Welcome to yet another blog. This time it’s all about maintenance of your newly purchase Lux-Extensions. Hair care and maintenance is very critical in achieving the optimum use of your Lux-Extensions. I have received numerous inquiries about hair care, specifically, what products to use to help maintain your Extensions. Personally, I would recommend a few product line; Joico, Paul Mitchell, Kera Care, Aquage, Carol’s daughter and mix chicks products. Ok, I know it seems like a lot but let’s go through exactly what I would recommend from each one of these lines.
Shampoo & Conditioner:
Paul Mitchell, Kera Care and Joico have great line of shampoos and conditioners which works very well on Lux-Hair and revitalize your extensions to its original shape and body. I recommend using the moisture and bounce shampoo and conditional from these lines. Joico also have a very good reconstructor K-pak system that works great on both your natural hair and your extensions.
Always brush and detangle your extensions from ends to roots before washing it, this will prevent further tangling. Always deep condition your extensions, remember it’s natural (100% human hair) and since it’s not receiving nutrients from your scalp this is very important. If you are going to color/bleach your hair make sure to a shampoo and conditioner recommended for color treated hair.
Styling:
One of most important reason our customers purchase our hair is for its versatility and longevity. With that been said, the styling products you use on a daily basis plays a vital role in achieving long term use of your Lux-Extensions. You can literally do whatever you want with your Lux hair, however if you would like to maintain the natural body, movement and flow to your extensions excessive product use on a daily basis is not recommended.
For straight hair I recommend a light gloss, which can be Paul Mitchell skinny serum or Aquage silkening oil. Both of these glosses they will give your Extensions the shine it needs, however it won’t leave build up residue/residual like hair grease or oil does, which tend to weight your hair down and make it lose the bounce and movement that every woman hair should have.
Carol’s daughter and Mixed-Chicks have some great products for our deep Indian curls, which will help maintain your curls and keep your hair soft and moist.
